Our young academics going an extra mile: Establishing cardiology services at Peradeniya Teaching Hospital. by Dr Hansa Sooriayagoda 20th April 2025

This video summarises the mission of a young academic working to strengthen cardiology services in Peradeniya, to help our people survive cardiac events. Preventable deaths, particularly among the young, due to cardiac issues, remain alarmingly high in our country, and each one represents a national loss.

I encourage you to watch the attached video and reflect on how you might contribute—or even help influence policymakers and the government—to support and promote such services, at least as a pilot project that could eventually be expanded island-wide.
