Nurturing Innovative ‘Agripreneurs’ in Sri Lanka by Chathuranga Bopeththa 15th September 2024

This new megaproject requires multi-professional input in education, investment, processing, IT promotion, advanced technology, export, and sales. The main goal is to add value to agriculture in Sri Lanka and enhance our economic stability, particularly for the farming community and beyond. Please watch this video and share it with anyone who can help. Academics affiliated with universities are encouraged to consider launching at least a hybrid (remote and in-person) short course to motivate the younger generation to engage with the Agripreneur projects. If you want to contribute to any of its fundamental requirements, don't hesitate to contact us at admin@srilankaleads.com. A well-developed project proposal could also lay the groundwork for a grant that may provide the necessary funding.

Additionally, please review the case study on ‘Durian’ featured on ‘Durianzila’. It illustrates how an innovative entrepreneur struggles to find the necessary number of firms to sustain business expansion. Ensuring consistent quality and continuous supply throughout the year is crucial, and any assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that Sri Lanka has more products with global potential than just tea. We produce some of the best cinnamon in the world, high-quality pepper, and even olives (‘weralu’).
