In 1948, when we became independent, we had no debt but a surplus instead. Now, our national debt exceeds 100% of our GDP. People are struggling to survive. There is no law and order. Democracy is defunct. Discipline is a thing of the past. Corruption is at its hilt. Most want to leave Sri Lanka. There is no genuine political leadership insight that offers any hope. As patriotic citizens, we must be involved.
No politician seems genuinely committed to promoting Education in Sri Lanka or recognising that as our fundamental pillar for recovery. Most only want to grab power by hook or crook for their gain, making us working class pay. It is set to worsen with escalating political greed for significant loans that hold us and our future generations to ransom.
The only way forward and the permanent solution is continuous Education at all levels and research to find the best solutions for our problems. Educating the public is essential to ensure a true democracy prevails in Sri Lanka through a logical decision-making future installed in every citizen. An educated voter base would change the political landscape too. Please work with us to bring Sri Lanka to its former glory.
